The Sarajevan Association of Taxi Drivers was established in 1946 and it has operated as an organised unit since then. The Association transformed its organisational structure several times in order to become more efficient and improve its operational capacity.

Thanks to its professional and responsible work over many years, the Mayor of Sarajevo decided on 6 September 2001 to grant the Association a priviledge to use the name of the city in its title. This event was a special incentive for the quality improvement of the Association's work.

Since then "Sarajevo-Taxi" has been transformed into a modern and well organised association managed by its members - the independent taxi drivers - represented in the Association's management boards.

This largest and most contemporary taxi service in Bosnia and Herzegovina is safe, accurate, comfortable, prompt, neat and available to the users of transportation services.

"Sarajevo-Taxi", that proudly displays the name of this city, is the major taxi-service provider in the Sarajevo Canton. The Association's functional radio network covers the whole Canton. It guarantees a prompt transportation and the service users' safety is high because each drive is recorded separately. The 22 telephone lines linked with the Distribution Centre also guarantee a prompt service provision. The Distribution Centre operates 24 hours a day and it is equipped with most contemporary IT and other infrastructure. The Association uses the vehicles produced within Mercedes, Audi, Volkswagen, Hyundai and other programmes. Most of our vehicles are not older than 5 years. The air conditioning and contemporary radio equipment are installed in them. The average age of our drivers is 35. They are professional and offer a high quality service to all our customers.

Each passanger in our vehicles is covered by insurance. The city offers a network of 72 taxi stands, located in such places where the transportation services are in high demand, especially in front of the hotels, Railway and Bus stations, at the Airport and all major cultural and historical sites and squares.
